Palms Playhouse
The Palms Playhouse
13 Main Street, Winters CA 95694 (Get directions)
(530) 795-1825
We will be playing trio-style the fine fall evening of Nov 5, brewing some creepy swampy-tonk as an appetizer to our friends, The Real Sippin’ Whiskeys. San Francisco’s The Real Sippin’ Whiskeys will be releasing their new CD and playing one of their last shows in one fell swoop.
You may have caught the Whiskey’s front man, Robbie Thayer picking up some lead and background vocals with us at one of our recent shows. We’ve known these guys for a very long time, and being that Robbie lives right across town from us, it only makes sense that we would invite him over for some beers and music making.
The Whiskey’s classic late 60s inspired sound is rich with pedal steel, fiddle and two-part harmones. It’s easy to pick up on the Gram Parsons, Buck Owenes and Louvin Brothers influences. The resulting sound is passionate, sometimes edgy, and always pure and honest.
We love the Palms and we think it is the perfect setting for a proper Whiskeys swan song. This will be a bitter sweet night for most of us. We are excited for their new record, and we’ll be singing our finest tunes with all of our might for a proper send off.

Yolo County Fair
Yolo County Fair
1125 East Street, Woodland CA (Get directions)
We will be joined by no less than three very special guests on the community stage at the Yolo County Fair this Thursday, August 18th, 2011. In alphabetical order by first name:
- Andy Lentz - Fiddle
- Robbie Thayer - Harmonies and accoustic guitar
- Tom Proulx - Lead guitar
You may have seen Andy perform with the West Nile Ramblers, Mad Cow String Band, and the Devil Makes Three.
Robbie Thayer has been sitting in with us at rehearsals for the past few months, filling out the vocals and taking lead on some of our older tunes and on some of Adam’s songs in his absense. Robbie comes to us from The Real Sippin’ Whiskeys out of San Francisco.
Do you remember Tom from last year? You should. We certainly didn’t forget to envite him back for another round. Tom has been ripping it up on bass with the Joe Carlson Trio for the past year or two.
This all takes place on the community stage at 8PM, conveniently located next to the beer garden. We’ll need plenty of you on hand to bring us beer so we can keep the honky tonk going.
